Prog Organ - plans

Version 1 of the software is no longer available.  It used a simple console window user interface, which was not a particular problem as very little interaction with the PC itself was required beyond reading messages on the screen.  Certain other facilities were not supported in this version including: digital expression control (swell pedals), polyphony economisation (in which stops of lesser importance are switched off or combined as the polyphony limit is approached and later restored), and piano sustain/damper pedals.

Version 2 software is complete in which a full Windows graphical user interface (GUI) is available, together with the other features mentioned above which did not form part of Version 1.  Version 2 may be made available on general release in due course, but currently it is available only to members of the Electronic Organ Constructors' Society (http://www.eocs.org.uk).  A screenshot of its start-up screen is shown below, illustrating how you select the simulated organ you want to play (an unlimited number can be made available depending on how many SoundFonts are loaded).  SoundFonts for both classical (straight) and theatre (unified) organs have been issued, and more are in the pipeline.
